800 Calories of Chopped Goodness

Today my lunch sack was filled with goodies all from Trader Joe's. Here's what the packing slip would look like if it had one:

- 1 Zen Bakery Blueberry Bran Muffin (my breakfast)
- 1 Packaged Italian-Style Chopped Salad
- 1 baggie full of Bean Chips
- 1 Bottled Water

I am actually quite fond of the Italian Chopped Salad and I recommend that you try it if you haven't already. It's not too diet friendly at 800 calories and 24 grams of fat per serving, but who cares, right? The lettuce is my least favorite part of this salad; I'm much more fond of the little chopped bits that go into it: (as I should be, after all, it's a CHOPPED salad, you idiot) diced tomatoes to add zest, salami and cheese to add saltiness, and diced chicken and garbanzo beans to add a little mellowness and texture. Plus a tangy dijon vinaigrette to go with it. Not too shabby for $3.49.

Wouldn't it be great if Trader Joe's had a little seating area so you could go buy some treats like salads, cheese and breads and have a little gourmet lunch? Hmm, maybe that's not such a great idea given that no Trader Joe's ever sits on alot of land. They'd have to take away some parking spaces or something, and that would make alot of people very, very angry. Including myself because I wouldn't be able to find parking to sit down and have my gourmet lunch. Oh well, I tried.
