I'm sorry Pam, i'm on the other side of the fence haha. I'm behind FATBURGER all the way. Where else can you get a fried egg and avocado in your burger. mmmmmmmmmmmmmm... Plus their fat fries are great. At In n' Out you have to eat those within 10 mins or they get soggy.
No, I guess I meant all the time! And yeah, that was a pretty hefty bite I took outta that burger 'cause I did another one of those "I-didn't-get-to-eat-until-two-o'clock" days, and I was STARVING!!! But then I remembered to take a picture! LOL!
Don't trip, Dylan, I love me some Fatburger too. Only thing is they're not as convenient to my office and they tend to take a long time. I usually so the egg too, but I prefer Skinny Fries. I always get my order with a side of chili ON THE SIDE so that I can dunk my fries into it without the overload of ordering actual chili fries!
Awwh man, just reading all this extreme gluttony stuff is causing plaque to accumulate on my major arteries! Now I need to drink a bottle of red wine (and no, DL's bottles of vodka fruit drinks derive no hearty health benefits, other than her cardiovascular 'workouts' *ahem*- that may follow before she passes out, hehe). Fast-food burgers cause this reaction in me now:
Sure, in another life; I've had all of these fast-food chain burgers (well maybe not the one Paris was promoting recently)...Paris is such a skank, but note the 70's pr0n style background music in the extended 60sec commercial, lol, not that I would know what ‘70’s pr0n music sounds like, heh. Spicy Paris too yawn inspiring for TV?. I have to say the “Eugene” Parody ad at spicyparis.com link is even more hilarious… and if you keep eating all this high calorie fat laden food, you’ll end up like ‘Eugene’ by the time you hit your 40’s or 50’s :P . You know, like that guy in the new Carl's portebella mushroom $6 burger ad; I seem to have the same 'problem' with salt ;-) ...and sultry, dark, sexy, supermodel-like looking babes are always sitting next to me at the damned burger joints, LOL. (warning, it's a shockwave site, if you don't have the flash player, it won't work, and broadband connection works much faster than a dialup...super long wait, low-quality vids).
But if you are going to skip your 5 servings of fruits and veggies/day; then at least do it with a decent burger (Ok, I'd never go to lunch and get a fast-food burger); one that is custom made, homemade, grilled on a barbeque w or w/o mesquite, applewood, rosemary twigs or other woods for distinctive flavor-using fresh semi-ripe (since farmer’s mkt vendors don’t often have truly ripe anything) Brandywine/purple Cherokee tomatoes, green lettuce of your choice or watercress!, 1/2 way decent cheeses of your choice, and any other item you’ll never get fresh/ripe from a fast-food joint; the only way to do a burger right, IMHO.... oh, I suppose Pam could gather round the parking lot at her work and barbeque with fold up lounge chairs like a football game tailgate party if absolutely necessary. But at your leisure, you can at least drink beer and wine with the burger (red wine, of course is healthier for the heart)… uh, and I mean, lots of wine ;) and then do lots of exercise to burn off all those excess calories consumed.
Speaking of 5/5 servings of healthier food, this 'controversial' 70's pr0n parody Superbowl 1/2time ad from PETA would have been far more interesting than J. Jackson's right breast ;-) PETA TV: The Super Bowl Ad They Won’t Show
Finish off your burger with what kind of desserts? If you were Korean (not DL’ she’s American) or Japanese, you might have (like Kristy) a bunch of ‘adult candy’ grapes.. a la the Kyoho variety. She told me that it would most likely be the last week for these from the “Gang of 8” at the farmer’s markets (see the link to DL’s Hlly frm mkt entry, from your 5@day entry later today for more details).
Kyoho grapes were getting soft, past their prime, losing their plump youthful freshness (hmm, kind of like some… ah never mind) and now about 1/2price @$2/lb in 5lb plastic cases of loose berries. She works at the Melrose or Hlly mkts on Sundays, but her father is at Culver City, Venice, Westwood, Westchester, Northridge Farmers Market during the week. There is also a different Korean family selling the grapes at the Sunday Alhambra farmers mkt, but I don’t know if there will be enough left for them to be there tomorrow. Kyoho grapes are an addictive habit; definitely better tasting than Concord grapes (they both derive from the same vinifera.
I do love In N Out. My stomach is now protesting audibly against the eggs and turkey sausage I was planning to make for breakfast and begging me to go to the In N Out that just opened up near my house.
whoa pam, you make that burger look so good! i'm more in-n-out than fatburger, although i do like the fried egg addition. last few times i had fatburger, it was a bit dry. i like apple pan, pie & burger (pasadena) and yuca's (mexican hut on hillhurst) the best though. hmm... i think i may have to get a burger now! your pic is making me salivate.

Actually - A King Fatburger on the char, no mayo, with mustard - is what else? King!
pam, you're right. fatburgers are harder to find and they do take a long time to cook their stuff. i don't mind the wait at all...

Kirk, yeah Fatburger can be king, but Dylan, I won't wait over 10 min for a burger. Unless I'm on one of my 2hr lunch days!
LA Cheese,
I have seen the "Eugene" parody, and yes, it is quite funny.
Have a tailgate party in my office parking lot? Hey, thanks for the idea. I'm about to get fired anyway...
Um, I'll be sure to try those grapes one of these days. Thanks!
Peeved Michelle,
An In N'Out opened near your house??? Well what are you waiting for?
Kristy,
I hope it wasn't a Fuddrucker burger...
Yoony,
Ditto comment to Peeved Michelle--well, what are you waiting for???
