Pinkberry, a.k.a. D.I.N.K.berry

melrose & la brea is pretty dink-y, wouldn't you say?

Having finally tried the goods at the overly-hyped frozen yogurt chain, I have to admit that I found the yogurt, having a more sorbet-like icy texture than a rich, creamy one, very refreshing. Paired with some diced strawberries and pineapple as well as some fruity pebbles for some color and crunch, it was the perfect cool-me-down snack on an unseasonably hot November afternoon.

i like how they covered up the "pink" with the $4.95 price sticker

But at an average of five bucks a pop per person for frozen yogurt (because trust me that I finished a medium with three toppings by myself), my husband and I would have to remain D.I.N.K.'s for the rest of our lives (that's Duel Income No Kids for those of you not in the know) if we were to continue fueling any sort of Pinkberry habit.

D.I.N.K.berry, indeed.

If you and your hubby are DINKs, am I then a poor little STINK? (Single Teacher's Income No Kids???) BOO!

So D.I.N.K.berry is kind of like Jamba Juice. $4-5 and 500+ calories later, you're wondering how you can afford the habit. I guess it's also like being a Starbucks addict! At least Jamba and Starbucks don't lead to a life of crime like some other addictions!

BOLA,

haha, i've heard of SINK, but never STINK...good one!

One Food Guy,

Good point. I guess indulging in those crime-inducing other addictions would lead you to become a SNINK...Single, No Income, No Kids. LOL!

CP,

Yeah, we already have another DINK-y habit with eating sushi pretty often. I can't imagine adding this addiction on to the tab. We do want some spawn someday, you know. ;)

but you're not paying $5 not for frozen yogurt; you're paying $5 for heroin. if you look at it in that light, it's a steal!

I would give ANYTHING to only have a $5 food habit! unfortunately I've got this nasty white truffle and omakase sushi addiction... guess I will be a permanent D.I.N.K. until I can get my appetite in order.

on the other hand, glad you see you snapped some shots in the face of their annoying and totally stupid "No Photography" sign.

i still haven't been to pinkberry's. i don't think it'll blow me away. it's frozen yogurt for peet's sake. all those toppings they use including the fruity pebble is just like korean bingsu.

Rameniac,

haha! Hmm, I never thought about it that way...

CC,

Unfortunately, the $5 is supplementary to what we already have a habit of spending the dough on. I don't know what's going to happen once Isaac and I make some mini-gluttony's. I think the thing we'll miss most is our weekend sushi dinners. *sigh*

Yoony,

Yeah, I keep hearing about Korean bingsu, but have never had it. Where can one get some?
