actually, i remember coming across an entry on someone else's blog that had something similar and it is a real fruit - called buddha's hand. except your's looks like...a chicken's foot. LOL!
anyway, look up buddha's hand. you'll see. it's WAY more mutant than what your parents gave you. :)

when i was working at The Restaurant one night, we had a bigass buddha's hand by the kitchen window... maybe 12" in length, with a bumpy peel. it seriously looked like a yellow chicken foot (fung zhao!). i kept staring at it and wondering what planet it was from.
Try to sell that lemon on eBay. The eBay caption could read: "Looks just like a Picasso + Salvador Dali rendition of a religious figure--with several protruding weird things emanating from its head."
I showed your post to people in my forum and the burning question that has arisen is:
Is there fruit inside the "tentacles"?

wow that's so cool. if the whole lemon tree birthed only these mutant babies, the would be even cooler. a basket of these would make an excellent centerpiece. :)
