Parihuela is so delicious. We were also fortunate to have at least a whole crab in ours when we visited there a long time ago. It is green with spiky leaves and when ground up is quite delicious - and tastes nothing like cilantro. It is available at some local farmer's markets - I've found it at the Glendale market on Thursdays. It is especially delicious when used to smother baby potatoes and goes great with pretty much everything else. I agree with the previous commenter that papas a la huancaina are amazing when done right. My mom sure knows how to make 'em!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11953123.post-82276921649299472522007-06-11T17:52:00.000-07:002007-06-11T17:52:00.000-07:00El Hatuchay is incan for big house. If you decide to go again, have someone else order Tallarines verdes since it's a cilantro, basil kinda of a dish- but absolutely tasty.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11953123.post-1148233788798384082006-05-21T10:49:00.000-07:002006-05-21T10:49:00.000-07:00How can you not like papa a la huancaina! (Believe me, the worst in LA beats the best in New York; and LA edges out San Francisco for authenticity. Only one particular restaurant in DC--I can't remember it's name but it's on I street I think--can challenge it).

--un peruano americanoAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
