I have tasted Matsuhisa, Nozawa (and other top notch sushi restaurants), and I feel that his sushi can compete with the so-called "bests." He picks the finest fish to serve and will never let you down. I'm happy that his new restaurant Izayoi gives him a chance to show off his culinary skills. Eat there! Give him your money! It's worth it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11953123.post-1121618243585524332005-07-17T09:37:00.000-07:002005-07-17T09:37:00.000-07:00Jaydee,Yeah, I really hope Izayoi does well. Another one for my list - I'd have to live in LA for a year and eat out for 3 squares a day to hit everything on my list.BTW I noticed that you mentioned pan handlers - once when we were in Little Tokyo, there was a restaurant on 2nd street that used to prepare a sample of the daily special and leave it outside so potential customers could see! Well once we saw this homeless guy grab the plate and make a run for it up the street! The waitress came out, sighed and said, "happens all the time!" Last time we passed by, the "samples" are now inside the restaurant. They should just us plastic food like the rest of the places....Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
